Dharamshala

Located on the edge of the mighty Himalayas in the Kangra Valley, Dharamshala is a serene city enveloped by deodar, cedar forests and the magnificent Dhauladhar ranges. It was once a holy abode to the 14th Dalai Lama – Tenzin Gyatso who lived as a refugee in Dharamshala in India. He is also responsible for establishing the Namgyal Monastery and the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives that is a storehouse of more 80,000 manuscripts related to Tibetan history and culture.
