McLeod Ganj

A beautiful little town situated on the outskirts of Dharamsala, Mcleodganj got its name from Lieutenant Governor of Punjab Sir Donald Friell McLeod. Known as “Little Lhasa” owing to its large population of Tibetans, Mcleodganj is where the exiled Tibetan Government bases itself. At a height of 6,831 feet, the stunning backdrops offered by Mcleodganj are indeed a photographer’s delight. Apart from delving deep into Tibetan culture (and how Buddhism plays a key role in it), the local handicrafts, garments, carpets, curios, thangkas and even peanut butter are bound to catch the attention of every tourist who visits Mcleodganj. With waterfalls, lakes, churches, and monasteries, Mcleodganj is surely on every tourist’s list of dream destinations!
