Mussoorie

Sitting atop the Garhwal Range of the Himalayas, Mussoorie is home to Ruskin Bond, the first Indian brewery, and the beautiful mansoor shrub. This beautiful hill town was set up by the British in 1823 as a hunting village and eventually turned into their retreat from the summer heat. To an extent the town still retains much of its colonial charm with relics of the Raj like churches, libraries and hotels still standing strong. Today, it is one of India’s most popular hill stations and treats tourists to jaw-dropping views of the surrounding mountains, lakes and waterfalls.
